In my work, having so many different clients, I am lucky enough to work with many different types of people. Most of them are fantastic, in fact, I can only think of one at the moment who I really don't like. (Unlike one of my "bosses" who works in the hospitality industry who has lately begun saying 'I am so over people. If it wasn't for the clients, this would be a fantastic job!')
Anyway, I got a laugh today with respect to one of her employees - the head chef. Now this guy, lets call him Cookie boy, is absof*ckinglutely gorgeous to look at. But boy does he know it! lol He has these eyes, and when he smiles you just want to be about 10 years younger, and take him aside and teach him a thing or two!!! (He is all of 29!) Anyway, like most temperamental chefs he has a temper and the other staff members are always complaining about him. He has reduced two of the women to tears, one being the boss, who is quite tough really. And yet I haven't seen this side of him. He is always very gentle and friendly and considerate with me. He brings me lunch to my desk, and shares a joke with me and listens to me when I talk to him! lol
So I said to the boss one day "I don't know why he is so nice to me and not to the rest of you." No one could work it out, until the other day, Cookie boy confessed to the dishpig that he "couldn't work me out!!" Well, when the boss told me that today we both laughed so hard. I said "What is so hard to work out about me. You couldn't get more straightforward than me!" to which she agreed, but then added "But don't forget, you don't treat him the same way you do me, or French chef or pregnant chef." Which is true. Pregnant chef and I talk about babies, of course, and French chef and I just flirt with each other, but with Cookie boy I treat him part like my son, and part like the Adonis with attitude that he is.
Anyway, I am glad he can't work me out, as I get the best deal from him. Obviously pays to stay just at arms length with some people!

If he wasn't so good at his job and didn't know all the things he does, I'm sure he'd be let go. But as it is he's been there ten years.
I can be huntin' and fishin' for a man too...
I've been after him since L'Hussard Sur Le Toi came out when I was living in France in 1995 - that's 10 YEARS AGO
